On Saturday, May 3, Le Pain took over Non Plus Ultra for the release of their latest album Dirge Technique—a crushing, hypnotic dive into the darker corners of experimental rock. Hosted by The Witching Hours, the show brought a tightly curated bill and a packed room ready for sonic chaos.

Le Pain headlined the night with a gripping performance that mirrored the raw energy of the record itself. Dirge Technique is no easy listen—it’s dense, confrontational, and soaked in sludgy textures and eerie melodic decay. Live, the songs hit even harder, with waves of distortion and feedback swallowing the room whole. The band leaned into the unease, creating an atmosphere that was both cathartic and consuming.

Opening support came from Sea Lions, who delivered jangly, off-kilter pop with a melancholy undercurrent—an ideal tonal contrast. G.M.O. followed with a tense, pulsing set that fused lo-fi electronics with grating post-punk, setting the perfect stage for the descent into Le Pain’s world.
With doors at 8PM and the room full by 9, this was one of those rare LA nights where everything aligned: the right bands, the right space, and a crowd that came to feel something. Dirge Technique isn’t just an album—it’s an experience, and this show proved Le Pain knows exactly how to deliver it.
